Instructional Design is the core of interactive learning. It is the process by which learning material, which can be in the form of text, images, a classroom session or any other format, is structured for conversion into an interactive format. The main output of ID is a storyboard that allows the graphics, video and audio teams to begin work on that basis.

Background

Royal Sundaram Alliance (a JV between India’s Sundaram Finance Group and the UK’s Royal Alliance Insurance) is India’s leading general insurance company.
As with most insurers, the largest sales channel used is a network of independent agents spread across the country.

Problem

The major pain point with this channel faces is the fact that agents are independent entities and not under the direct control or employment of the company.
Therefore, imparting training to these agents is a huge task due to availability, geographical spread and disparate educational backgrounds.

Solution

ContentFlow implemented a solution where the entire training process (which consisted of live sessions with a trainer, brochures, presentations etc.) were analyzed and integrated into a single module which consisted of voice, text, animation and video.
The module is designed to appeal to the defined target audience and is being deployed over the web, preinstalled on laptops and through DVDs, thus massively streamlining the training process, making it cheaper, more efficient and scalable.
